Easter (Semana santa) - Medieval festival - Snow and more
Easter here is serious and takes a week. This week is called “Semana santa” and starts with processions on the Wednesday before Easter Sunday. Easter Monday is a working day but the Tuesday is again reserved for fiestas. To see some of these check out this link to YouTube.
As most Spaniards take this as a holiday and visit either their homes in the country side and/or friends and family traffic becomes headline news.
Monfortes medieval fiesta was held on the Saturday. Semana santa is known for its unpredictable weather and it was. No disappointment there, a good mixture of rain, sun shine, hail and more rain. As I’m reasonably tall such conditions make it very hazardous for me as umbrellas tend to be just in head height.

But whatever the weather it was greatly appreciated and visited. There is always a coffee or a bar one can duck into when the weather gets to atrocious.
This morning, unusually, we were up early (Formula 1 start was at 8 am).
Yes, snow! The temperature was just hovering about the 0 mark. Not a problem as our central heating switched itself on dutifully.
We love our central heating based on pellets. Not only does it work it also started to save us real money. If you want to know more about it, I have just released two pages about it.
