To Do List

Well, there are so many things to think off or solve when you have to arrange a move from the UK to Spain and at the same time try to have at least some rooms habitable shortly after arriving. So it maybe of interest to find a collection of obstacles and their solutions or not.

It is a growing list and I'll do my best to keep it updated.

Organise physical move

We didn't fancy the man with a van we needed 30 m2 as part load preferably stored for about 4 weeks.

We used ET Brokers. Small fee great service

Needed more boxes - Autch, these can be expensive Check out Aid Pack Simple walled boxes 600x400x400 99p
We packed each carton with a selection of soft and hard goods. Using cloth, duvets, cushions, etc. as additional transport safety. Worked like a treat. Just when unpacking a duvet you may have to find space for yet another piece of crystal.
If one drives by car, it pays to either have satellite nav or at least the latest road atlas. Using a 2005 one, made us miss some new French motorway.
It is also a good idea to plan overnight stays well in advance. It is simply great to arrive somewhere planned and have a feeling of achievement. We used the Europe and world wide hotel section of Departures-Arrivals.com. It's pay when you leave and one can cancel on short notice should things go wrong.

All the above worked out.

To see what happened after arrival please see our blog. Best from the beginning right here.
