This is a day with perfect everything – Light – Temperature – Flowers – Colours and the first woven handbag on wheels in rural Galicia.
These are the moments one need to relish; All the niggly bits, whatever they are, pale to insigificance when one experiences a perfect spellbinding day.
Just walking out into the garden, yes I know I do live in a nursery and landscaped garden, but still, managed or non managed, nature can and will force her beauty onto you and one just gapes in wonder.
The mouth closes soon enough as the ever present bugs will start to inspect this dark hollow at a hight of about 1,80 meter.
Sadly, tourismo Galicia has again failed to convey the message that the Ribeira Sacra is at its best at this time of year. Thanks to the recent rain everything looks staggeringly healthy and bursting with flowers and colors. So we do not have to share this with others – BUT we do enjoy this, so much so, that I have decided not to venture away just stay in our gardens and gape.
It is not all stand and stare. I have managed to build what I now call Barbaras handbag on wheels.
The original problem was to fix the ugly battery to the small mountain bike Barbara prefers.
One day, talking to Debora, who is an acomplished “cestero” – we hit on an idea, why not use a nice basket – custom made – to hide it all.
There was the usual time lag between thinking about disconecting the electric / electronics, fix it all up and reconnect it again. Will it work first time? Now there is the solution – The woven handbag on wheels – first seen here in Mer in the concello of Sober in the stunning Ribeira Sacra.
Not urgend but creping up on the ever growing list of things to do – a persenning for those rare rainy days and I will need to figure out how to fix a winerack with intercooler to my bike.
But all that is for another day. Today its just enjoyment.
I leave you with a bunch of late spring.
