At no 54/73 Mer, Proendos 27460 Sober Galicia Spain you'll find old cottages partly build of stone and partly build of brick. These have been lovingly renovated. One is now a 2 bed room self catering, self contained, house with a secluded and shaded garden/ This offers - Comfort - Tranquility - Nature - Lots of each - .
It's about 1:30 from Santiago de Compostella airport. Alternatives are Vigo, A Coruna, Oviedo (Asturias) and Porto (Portugal).
Long distance trains do stop in Monforte de Lemos.
The rental comfortably sleeps 2, 3 or a maximum of 4 . It is on the first floor with cellars underneath. A typical galician kitchen and it's "cocina economica" , a large lounge with a wood burner, a bed room with a large double bed and a small second bed room with a single bed. A bath room with shower (hot) under floor warming and downstairs access to a shaded garden with ample seating. We have central heating, so if it turns cold - no worries. The fridge lives in the "old" smoking room which is upstairs beside the kitchen. The property has been renovated to high standards but the "old charm" has been painstakingly preserved.

If you have read the blogs and articles you may glean that we love to live here and cherish the small hamlet of Mer. It is a very rural setting in a farming community, but surprisingly only 5 minutes from Sober with its restaurant, 2 bars, 2 shops, a surgery and much more. Further 10 minutes will take you to Monforte de Lemos (19.000 inhabitants) with its delightful "Escorial of Monforte", pedestrianised shopping area, cafe's, bars and if you can stay up late discotheques and entertainment.

We charge 350 Euro / week for 2 persons year round. Additional person(s) 35 Euros / week.
Additional days - 50 Euros / day for 2 - No fixed change over day.
Parking:
You are welcome to load and unload directly at the entrance, but we request that you park "in sight" approx. 50 yards away.
Smoking:
No smoking in the house please, but the garden has a covered area.
Pets:
We regret but no pets.
Extras:
Airport pick up and drop off (ca. 100 Euros depending on petrol pricing - please enquire).
2 bicycles are available upon request. Please provide your own helmets.
A trekking canadier is available on request.
To familiarise you with the area we can offer half / day trips. 8 Euro/hour plus petrol (approx. 12 Euros/ 60 miles / 100 Km).
Upon request - Home cooked 3 course dinner incl. local wine.
Daily bread van at around 10:30 - Barra (basic bread), other breads, croissants and empanada (upon request).
If you are interested in looking at properties, we can introduce you to reliable local agents and set up viewings.
Having gone trough the process ourselves we can also arrange tradesmen or builders.

WiFi Internet, encryptet / unencryptet is available - free.
If want to improve you computer skills - 1 to 1 sessions are available.
Booking conditions:
50% of the total amount required for confirmation.
Rest upon or just before arrival.
Cancellations up to 4 weeks prior to arrival. We will redeem any amount paid minus any banking fees. After that we charge 25% of the reservation fee per week.
Payment in Euros by PayPal(+2.5%), bank transfer and the remainder just before arrival or in cash upon arrival / shortly thereafter.
Sorry, but we do not accept payments by cheque.
